#BlackandBrilliant is an advocacy group – for people of all backgrounds – dedicated to creating a more diverse workforce.

The adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) and its impact on BIPOC is an issue that has hit the radar of The #BlackandBrilliant Data Science Group. There are hundreds of scare stories about AI and digital technology, but few dive deep into the impact on Black and Brown communities. This will impact jobs, entrepreneurs, social life, the photos you take, your insurance premiums, your health, education, and even your freedom.

This panel will be of interest to anybody who wants to successfully navigate a future dominated by technology and want to better navigate the dangers and capitalize on the opportunities.

The panelists will answer the big questions:

What human biases in A.I. are causing the specific dangers to BIPOC and why?
Where are the biggest threats and what dangers lie ahead, and why?
Where is facial recognition going and what should we all be doing to counteract its impact? What parts of the economy face the largest threats and why?
How should Black and Brown people be thinking about the A.I. future, their careers, and the societies they will live in?

Panelists:

James Briggs, CEO at Ai Collaborators

Toju Duke, Product Lead & ML Fairness Program Manager at Google

Mahir Yavuz, Co-Founder and CTO at Topos

The moderator for the panel will be:

Michael King, Managing Director at iPullRank & Keynote Speaker

Hope to see you all there.
